"Crossover"

The book crossover is about a twelve year old boy named Josh.  Josh really loves basketball.  Josh says "Basketball is my life".  Josh has a brother who likes basketball too.  They are both really good.  Josh plays small forward and shooting guard.  The biggest thing that happened in this book is when Josh's team went to the championship.

The plot is when Josh's team goes to the championship.  Everyone tought they would lose, but not josh he knew they would win it.  The other team had won 2 championships in a row.  Josh was right they did win.  Something that I thought was boring was in the beginning when they explained about the author.

"Would we be killed?"

American Indians where made feel like they didn't exist.  They where pushed aside they wanted their kids to not be white.  In the article it said "'kill the Indian save the man'".  It also says "All the Students where given Christian names".  Whites thought that American Indians where Dangerous and trouble makers.  It even says in the article "American Indian tribes were in dire trouble". All these text evidence mean that whites wanted to get rid of American Indians. 

The purpose of her essay is to say that she is the same as other people just because she is from a different culture that doesn't make her different. In the story it said, "I take showers, watch finding carter on MTV, and wear jeans, just like any other teen". Shanice wants reader to understand that we are all the same, but with different beliefs. Shanice says that Native Americans living today have 2 big ceremonies each year. In the article it says "One in the spring,Big time, and another in the fall, Indian days". Shanice explains that Native Americans don't just were moccasins and a headdress.

"Scorpions"

In this story Jamal's  is taken to jail, but his family thinks that its only $500 to bail him out.  Jamal's duty is to take his place as a gang leader.  Jamal doesn't want to join the gang but he has too.  Jamal's job in the gang is to sell cocaine.  Jamal says that he isn't scared if his best friend Tito is with him all along.  All the Gang wants to do is make money of selling cocaine.  Jamal in school fight Dwayne the guy who keeps on bullying him and during the fight Jamal threatens Dwayne with a gun which leads Jamal in more trouble.

Jamal says different thing but does the opposite like Contrast and Contradictions.  For example "Im only in the gang to take my brothers place" and when he goes to school and threatens Dwayne he is acting like a gang banger.  Jamal acts the opposite he says he will.  He also says that when his brother gets out he will stop sellling crack but, he says he likes to win money like that.

Tolerance

The ability or willingness to allow the existence occurrence, or practice of something,  in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessary agree with.

"How can you be more tolerant of others?"
I think I can be more tolerance by changing my attitude and be nicer to everyone.  I have to start being nice to people to be more tolerant.  Not just nice to the people I want, but to everyone.  I think I can actually be more tolerant if I am careful with what i'm saying because at times I don't know what i'm saying.

"Scorpions"

In my book "Scorpions" the main characters name is "Jamal".  At school Jamal is having a hard time.  The teacher doesn't leave him alone, the kids don't leave him alone, and the principle gives him a hard time.  Jamal's mom is always yelling at him too.  The only person Jamal can count on is his best friend "Tito".   Jamal is in a gang called "Scorpions" and now they want Jamal to take over as the leader of the gang and sell cocaine.  Jamal dosnt want nothing to do with the gang, but he has no choice.  Jamal only does this to get the money for Randys appeal.  Jamal thinks that everything will go okay if he has Tito by his side.

A sign post I am going to use is Aha moment.  In the book "Scorpions" Jamal is always being asked questions by gang members.  In the story they ask him to sell crack and he says yes.  Then I tough and said "Aha" thats why they keep asking him questions.  They also kept saying to going the gang.

"Muhammad Ali"

Muhammad is a black muslim.  Muhammad Ali is not 73 years old.  Muhammad Ali is the best boxer of all time he beat Sonny Liston in the championship in the first round and the first minutes.   Muhammad Ali won the Olympics after that Muhammad Ali changed his religion from Christian to Muslim.  Muhammad Ali was diagnosed with "Parkinson" at the age of 42.  Muhammad Ali was hated after changing his religion.  He didn't want to fight in Vietnam because of his religion.  Muhammad Ali was suspended from fighting for 3 years.  Muhammad Ali refused to going the army and was taken to court because of that.  Muhammad Ali said "there is no point on killing people if theres not a reason"

Muhammad Ali is a up stander because he stood up for civil rights.  Some text evidence is "Muhammad got inspired by watching the march".  Muhammad Ali also stood up for his religion.  Muhammad Ali didn't want to fight in Vietnam because of his religion.  People started to hate him because he didn't want to fight in Vietnam.  He said " I don't hate no one.  I aint lynch no one"

Holes the end

As I left off in the book holes zero had ran away.  Stanley tried to take the water truck to him but failed.  Stanley had fell into a hole and couldn't  bring the water.  Stanley went off looking for zero and under a boat named"Mary Lu" was zero.  Zero had been living of peaches and onions.  Stanley was told that if he found a mountain shaped as a thumb he would find the treasure the :Warden was looking for.  Stanley not just found the treasure he had found water because they both where really thirsty.  In the whole the treasure was at they fell in it to take the treasure out, but they where surrounded by killer lizards.  when the "warden" and Stanley's lawyer got their they took zero and Stanley out of the hole.  The warden tried to take the treasure away from Stanley but Stanley's lawyer said no that it has Stanley's name on it so it belonged to him.  Whit the money Stanley helped zero find his mother.

Stanley is nice because he tried to take the whole water truck to zero while zero was really thirsty.  "I also tried to bring you the water truck but i fell in a whole." said Stanley.  Stanley is also nice because he helped zero learn his ABC's. everyone in the camp tough zero was "stupid" because he didn't talk to no one but Stanley.  Zero is also nice because he helped zero find his mom he was wishing to see.  "Whit half of the money Stanley helped zero find his mother."  Stanley is nice in a lot of ways to a lot of people.
